
It works as a main connection between the Old Town and the New modern city , so the Gothic Quarter and the Eixample District nowadays.
This central square is flanked by the most important and busiest streetsof the city: Passeig de Gràcia , Rambla de Catalunya , the mythical avenue of La Rambla and the comercial shopping street Portal de l'Angel .
The buildings located all around the square are holding offices and banks; there is also a huge shopping mall named El Corte Inglés, the most important one in the city; as well as the Official Apple Store.
Due to its location , is almost impossible not to see it during your stay in Barcelona, is the main meeting point for locals and visitors.
