About the city

There hasn’t been a single report about “Top City Destinations” published in the travel press in the last decade that doesn’t have Barcelona anywhere near the top – and it’s not hard to see why.

Thanks to the winding and picturesque narrow streets of its Gothic Quarter, the stunning modernist architecture of Gaudì and friends, and its enviable position between the forested mountains and the sweeping expanse of the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The Olympic Games of 1922 also helped realize a sparkling, refurbished marina and a glut of artificial beaches and street scrolls.
